Chandra Lockett is an award-winning children’s author, homeschool educator, and devoted mother of three. Inspired by the bedtime stories she created for her own children, she brought to life the beloved Oinkers & Bananas series—a collection of heartwarming adventures that entertains while teaching meaningful life lessons.
What began as an imaginative storytelling challenge from her children has grown into a series that encourages young readers to embrace kindness, friendship, confidence, and the unique qualities that make them who they are. Through the adventures of Oinkers, Bananas, Cobra, and their friends, Chandra helps children discover that their differences are not weaknesses—they are their greatest strengths.
Passionate about inspiring a lifelong love of reading, Chandra regularly connects with families, schools, libraries, and community organizations through author visits, interactive read-alouds, and educational activities. Her books encourage meaningful conversations between children and the adults who love them, making important life lessons easy to understand and fun to explore.
Chandra’s greatest hope is that every child who opens an Oinkers & Bananas book will know they were created with purpose, are wonderfully unique, and have something special to offer the world.
